MARCH 2008 Update:

As we move into the spring months, here is a fresh update from Dj & Producer Niklas Harding

THE STUDIO:

Remix requests are rolling in from various artists and labels, Marcus Schossow - 1985 (Niklas Harding Remix) will be released on Social Sound Recordings and promoted during the forthcoming WMC 2008 in Miami!

The new Santiago Nino track ・Re-Charge・ will be featured a Niklas Harding remix, as well as remixes from Dj Preach and Dj Phynn to complete the package.

The original UK trance master - Solarstone has requested the Danish dancefloor destroyer to remix one of his upcoming album tracks!

Stay tuned for more info and samples on all these from the Niklas Harding website

In the future Harding fans will be able to listen to the WestBronx show through Tillate & Vonyc's new radio cooperation every 2nd Friday of the month.

Late Night Tales Release

To celebrate the 20th release of Late Night Tales,
Groove Armada have put together an unmissable array of Late Night gems.

Ranging from all time classic artists (Depeche Mode, The Cure, Roxy Music) to newer wonders of the musical spectrum (Midlake, Peter Bjorn & John, Liquid People).

Groove Armada have re-mixed, re-edited and blended all 18 tracks into a seamless and unique mix of latenight classics with a hint of balearic flavour.

In the tradition of the series, Groove Armada have also covered one of their favourite songs exclusively for this album and the result is no other than Gary Numan's Are 'Friends' Electric?.

House passes antipiracy act (U.S.A)

A House subcommittee passed Thursday a tough new bill protecting intellectual property that would create a White House coordinator of federal antipiracy efforts. But in order to move the bill forward, it had to be stripped of a provision strongly desired by the recording industry.

Muller joins with William Morris

Don Muller, who represents a stable of leading rock acts, has joined the William Morris Agency as an agent in its music division.

He brings with him Pearl Jam, Rage Against the Machine, the Mars Volta, Foo Fighters, Weezer, Beastie Boys, Tenacious D and Maxwell (myspace).

VH1 beefs up 2008 lineup

VH1 is beefing up its 2008 slate with four new reality shows, two VH1 "Rock Docs" and a "VH1 Storytellers" episode for Snoop Dogg.

Bertelsmann to get out of music biz?

Unsubstantiated reports started to come out of Germany that on Tuesday Bertelsmann may be looking to get out of the music business.

Financial Times Deutschland reported that the company's chief financial officer, Thomas Rabe, has discussed with two private-equity companies the possibility of selling the company's stake in Sony BMG. Bertelsmann owns half the recorded music company.

Lollapalooza is an American music festival featuring alternative rock, hip hop, and punk ,rock,dance and comedy performances, and craft booths. It also provided a platform for non-profit and political groups.

Conceived and created in 1991 by Perry Farrell, singer for the band Jane's Addiction as a farewell tour for his band, Lollapalooza ran annually until 1997, and was revived in 2003. The festival encapsulated American youth culture for the 1990s much as Woodstock did for the 1960s.

After poor ticket sales forced the 2004 tour to be canceled,^[1] it was retooled in 2005 by Austin, TX based Capital Sports Entertainment into its current format as a weekend destination festival in Grant Park in Chicago.

Armed with little more than his father’s extensive record collection of jazz, soul, psychedelic rock, folk, comedy and a Kurzweil 2000 keyboard - Black Spade’s music is a melting pot of sounds hailing from St. Louis by way of New York, Detroit, LA, and everywhere that hip-hop has carved a distinctive and influential sound for itself.

UMG Strikes Euro Deal For Jonas Brothers

Universal Music Group has struck a deal with Disney Music Group's Hollywood Records to license the Jonas Brothers' self-titled album for Europe. "Jonas Brothers" will be released in Europe by Polydor Records in June, preceded by the first single, "S.O.S," in late May. UMG also has distribution rights for "Jonas Brothers" in Canada and Latin America.
