It's been a big week for us over here at RCRD LBL
-To say the least.

We've added over 60 (!!!) new artists and released over 90 new tracks!

FEATURED: Taking a Walk on the Wild Side: Lou Reed & N.E.R.D. at Fader Fort Austin

Thursday at the Fader Fort was hallmark. As the Austin dusk
set, My Morning Jacket, Thurston Moore (of Sonic Youth), Joseph Arthur, and Dr. Dog gave tribute to Lou Reed. The lights

shone golden on Lou himself gave a wicked live show with

Moby- as the crowd all sang along to "Walk On A Wild Side."

N.E.R.D concluded the night (after making the crowd wait for a

diva-like amount of time) with Pharrell doing a ska-esque

dance-off onstage and inviting two chicks on-stage to grind. They also debuted some new songs but if we told you what they

were we'd have to kill you.

Cut Copy are prancing around the globe [they can currently be found inhaling whole rib stacks and complaining about the coffee at SXSW in Texas] ahead of the imminent release of their new album In Ghost Colours. Radio Disney promotes Riley

Michael G. Riley has rocketed to the top of the Radio Disney charts.

Radio Disney is broadcast over 50 radio stations and is available via XM and Sirius satellite radio. The program service is also streamed on RadioDisney.com and via the iTunes radio tuner. According to the company, Radio Disney reaches 97% of the country (U.S.A). The kid-targeted network plays a mix of tracks from contemporary artists such as Alicia Keyes,Chris Brown and Natasha Bedingfield.

Joseph steps up at Universal Music

David Joseph has been promoted to chairman/CEO of Universal Music U.K.

Joseph, who was previously co-prexy of Polydor Records and prexy of Universal Music Operations, has been with the company for 10 years. In his new role he will report directly to Universal Music Group international chairman/CEO Lucian Grainge.

MySpace courts music labels

Social networking website MySpace is close to launching an online music service that is expected to partner News Corp. with the major labels.

Rival website Facebook has reportedly also begun negotiations with the major music labels as the social networking giants battle to win a share of the digital music market.

They may also include links to digital music stores, such as Apple’s iTunes or the record labels’ own online sales operations, to allow users to purchase tracks.

We have been up to our eyeballs making a new record here in LA and we are extremely excited about how its turning out thus far. NSDTCM:BAND: R.E.M.

Opting for the untraditional route, veteran rockers R.E.M. have found a way to connect with younger fans. The band plan to premiere their latest album, Accelerate on the social network, iLike.

The sight will allow fans to stream and share the album in its entirety beginning March 24, an entire week prior to the album's US release.

The 11 song set, with an accompanying exclusive video of the band discussing the album, will be available for free to anyone using iLike, Facebook, iTunes and any other social networks that offer an iLike application.

As we move into the spring months, here is a fresh update from Dj & Producer Niklas Harding

THE STUDIO:

Remix requests are rolling in from various artists and labels, Marcus Schossow - 1985 (Niklas Harding Remix) will be released on Social Sound Recordings and promoted during the forthcoming WMC 2008 in Miami!

The new Santiago Nino track ・Re-Charge・ will be featured a Niklas Harding remix, as well as remixes from Dj Preach and Dj Phynn to complete the package.

The original UK trance master - Solarstone has requested the Danish dancefloor destroyer to remix one of his upcoming album tracks!

In the future Harding fans will be able to listen to the WestBronx show through Tillate & Vonyc's new radio cooperation every 2nd Friday of the month.
