Black Label #11: TJ Kong & Nuno Dos Santos

CPT 231-1 12"

TJ Kong is a new producer and DJ to emerge from the south of the Netherlands. Inspired and influenced by music as diverse as (early) house, minimal, latin, electro, disco and ambient he has been building himself a solid reputation during the last few years. But while he already played a lot of his own tracks, mixes and edits in the club, he had never thought about releasing his music on wax.

Until, early 2006, he played back to back with the talented DJ Nuno Dos Santos (born in Portugal, raised in the Netherlands) who also had been making himself quite a name in The Netherlands: he played every major club, has his own night in 11 (Amsterdam's number one club) and in October 2005 was voted "Talent of the year" by a panel of 50 top names from the Dutch dance scene.

They both immediatley clicked on a personal and musical level and decided to produce some tunes together. A few weeks later the "Circus Bells EP" was finished! And it won't be their last collaboration, a follow-up is already almost finished. So better watch out for TJ Kong & Nuno Dos Santos. SOURCE: COMPOST RECORDS
