DUO REACH SETTLEMENT ON NAPSTER
Warner Music, Bertelsmann resolve claims
Warner Music Group Corp. and Bertelsmann AG have settled claims relating to the P2P music-swapping service Napster. The settlement covers the resolution of the legal claims of WMG's recorded music and music publishing businesses in 2000 and 2001.
Bertelsmann admits no liability in making the settlement.
Bertelsmann, which bought Napster's assets in 2002, settled a lawsuit with EMI in March and Universal Music in September.
Bertelsmann sold the Napster name to Roxio in 2003.
