Angels was 'one of those clubs' situated in the heart of Lancashire mill town Burnley.
It opitimised everything about the early exploding dance scene in the UK diring the late 80s. A magnet for clubbers seeking a fresh underground sound, they came from everywhere, all corners of the UK.
Angels was so popular at one point the local rozzers had to put up a blockade to stop party people getting into the town which made front page headlines in the local papers - all good fun.
Iconic in status, Angels was championed by then resident Paul Taylor and local boy Steve Farkas.
It was the bedrock of a fast growing alternative dance scene; profiling new DJ names such as Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold, Sasha, Pete Tong...the list was endless but it was the clubs residents that gave it its own sound.
The family atmosphere lasted right through to its eventual closure by Burnley council to make way for a new shopping development. Still held very close in people's hearts, the Angels atmosphere and its ethos continues today with regular events at Fusion in Burnley.
This CD acknowledges and is dedicated to those who came to party with us. One of those party people was Jane Angel whose whole life at the time was immersed by the unity created in that building every weekend.
Today alongside Paul Taylor they still keep that proverbial flame alive.
