Music + Media: We Love ...Space
We Love... Sundays at Space is always regarded as the equivalent of a weekly festival, however this week the line-up in the Space Terraza Arena reads like the who's who of the festival scene - with a special DJ set by Andy Butler of Hercules & Love Affair, a back to back extravaganza starring Jesse Rose and Heidi, our much-loved resident Steve Lawler on hand to put a mammoth two hour end to the proceedings, plus disco remix king Serge Santiago and Alex Wolfenden giving the room a taste of their own unique ways.
David Phillips warms up the big cold room this week in his own inimitable Discoteca style (those who caught his set last week are probably still dancing!), getting the booth ready for a Krautrock revival at the hands of Riton plus the return of the Streetlife DJs, and the We Love... debut of the much-hyped Italian DJ duo Crookers.
Spencer Parker joins us on the Sunset Terrace this weekend, eager to prove that his recent addiction to teenage television shows while residing in Berlin hasn't affected his musical taste in anyway. Alongside him are terrace stalwarts Jason Bye and Jonathan Ulysses (with his trademark cannon moves on standby), and of course, we present another headlining masterclass by Alfredo.
El Salon is taken over by Balearic beer buddies Jonathan Grey and Mr Doris, no doubt in a healthy battle of 'who's-got-the-most-eclectic-record-collection' while upstairs on the Premier Etage, long-time We Lovers Ben Korbel, Ian Blevins and Scott Martin will be sending their smooth and suave sounds over the airwaves. They don't call that big yellow seating arrangement The Tunnel of Love for nothing you know...
The Chew the Fat! crew reclaim the Red Box, this time bringing along dubstep wonder child Raffertie to do the honours (check out his DJ mix below for a taste of what you'll hear on Sunday), plus regular Red Box ravers Foamo, Andy Carroll and Jem Haynes - who last week seemed to be in two places the club at once, spotted behind the booth twice in the Red Box and also smashing the covered terrace.Does he have a twin we don't know about?
God help us if DJs could have clones...
now there's an idea!
