[DJ SEUIL] [TECHNO]
[PARIS,FRANCE]

Seuil
has been part of our electronic world since 2 years and said hello with a series of great releases.
He comes from the Reunion Island, a French department where he was living till the age of 18. Then he packed his stuff and moved to fascinating Paris, where he has been living since 7 years now exploring for 4 years the electronic sound at the French capital.

A wide range of classical music skills like 10 years of playing piano, jazz and blues formation, as well as a few years of percussions gave him the background to work on electronic music composition. When it comes to his music, he always tries to find a personal groove.

His interest in
modern house and techno started with the discovery of the +Perlon's crew. With influences like Pantytec, Zip, Melchior, Cabanne, +Ricardo Villalobos and +Mathew Dear or +Daze Maxim.. raeckwon two different sides in Seuil's music : dark rolling minimal along modern minimal shaking house, but always with the same groovy spirit, heavy bass lines and obscure sounds collage.

GENRE:TECHNO [ENGLISH]

Techno is a form of electronic dance music (EDM) that emerged in Detroit, Michigan, USAgenre of music, was in 1988.[1] Many styles of techno now exist, but Detroit techno is seen as the foundation upon which a number of subgenres have been built.[2] during the mid to late 1980s. The first public use of the word techno, in reference to a

The initial take on techno arose from the melding of Eurocentric synthesizer-based music with various African American styles such as Chicago house, funk, electro, and electric jazz. Added to this was the influence of futuristic and fictional themes that were relevant to life in American late capitalist society: most particularly the book The Third Wave by Alvin Toffler.[3] Techno music pioneer Juan Atkins cites Toffler's phrase "techno rebels" as inspiring him to use the word techno to describe the musical style he helped to create. This unique blend of influences aligns techno with the aesthetic referred to as AfroDiasporic Futurism.[4] To producers such as Derrick May, the transference of spirit from the body to the machine is often a central preoccupation; essentially an expression of technological spirituality. In this manner: "techno dance music defeats what Adorno saw as the alienating effect of mechanisation on the modern consciousness".[5]

Music journalists and fans of techno are generally selective in their use of the term; so a clear distinction can be made between sometimes related but often qualitatively different styles, such as tech house and trance. "Techno" is also commonly confused with generalized descriptors, such as electronic music and dance music.[6][7][8]

NSDTCM:GENRE:*[DUBSTEP]

Dubstep
is a genre of electronic dance music that has its
roots in London's early 2000s UK garage scene. The genre's name was coined by Ammunition Promotions. Musically, dubstep is distinguished by its dark mood, sparse rhythms, and emphasis on bass. Dubstep started to spread beyond small local scenes in late 2005 and early 2006, with many websites devoted to the genre appearing on the Internet and thus aiding the growth of the scene, such as dubstepforum, the download site Barefiles and blogs such as gutterbreakz.[2] Simultaneously, the genre was receiving extensive coverage in music magazines such as The Wire and online publications such as Pitchfork Media. Interest in dubstep grew significantly after BBC Radio 1 DJMary Anne Hobbs started championing the genre, beginning with a show devoted to it

(entitled "Dubstep Warz") in January 2006.[3][4][5]

Ricardo Villalobos - Vasco EP Part 1
[LABEL: PERLON]

WORDS: PETER CHAMBERS

It's been said that Ricardo Villalobos has a pair of studio monitors worth sixty grand. Not living next door, I’m happy that he’s invested in state-of-the-art speakers—because, if Vasco EP Part 1 is any indication, they’ve enabled him to feel further into the groove than ever before, and what’s inside are beautiful ghosts.

The EP begins with ‘Electronic Water’, which prods your ears with some sine bass stabs, bracketing a groove that gathers momentum with cow bells, as well as clicks and clipped layers of percussion.
