Trax return with a brand new production by Germany 's finest Matthias Heilbronn. ‘Matty' brings us his latest release titled ‘Chang' featuring three exquisite mixes, available on digital download only. This distinguished track shows a darker side to Matthias' diverse musical ability.

Matthias, born of German soil moved to New York in 1989 where he fast became one of New York '-s most in-demand editors and programmers. Having worked on songs by Michael Jackson, Madonna, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey he isn't short of celebrity appeal.

Fresh from topping charts with ‘651', his collaboration with Jon Cutler, as well as having a host of releases for Pokerflat, Matthias continues to deliver with this crisp techy track.

‘Tintin in Africa' features techy beats and super sub bass lin e coupled with soaring synths and roaring percussion while his ‘Tintin in Tibet mix' take things a little further with more complex arrangement and Matty's signature detailed production.

Rounding up the package is ‘Matty's Yeti Mix' which delivers a stripped down dance floor friendly version.

Yahoo tunes in to Rhapsody

Yahoo will unplug its digital music service Yahoo Music Unlimited and make Rhapsody the Web giant's exclusive provider for tunes.

Deal is a coup for Rhapsody America, a co-venture between MTV and RealNetworks, and it comes at a time when

With the outstanding success of the two first ...mixing compilations from JAZZANOVA (SK033CD/LP) and Âme (SK96CD/LP), Sonar Kollektiv had to find another artist again that could bring something special to the series, so as to keep it really innovative. And they found the right one in the person of DENNIS Mc FARLANE a.k.a DEGO of 4HERO. With his partner MARK CLAIR a.k.a. MARC MAC they massively changed the face of 90s music and made a huge contribution to dance culture.

Reinforced was labelled NME album of the year and their album 2 Pages on GILES PETERSON’s Talkin’ Loud was nominated for a Mercury Prize Award and won them a MOBO award in 2001. They recently released Play With The Changes on their own Raw Canvas label, which received a critical acclaim in UK.

4HERO are real world musicians. Rather than integrate, they interrogate the music history and are able to mix past, present and future.

They were the most suited artists to bring something new to the series and Sonar Kollektiv is happy to let DEGO teach us a lesson of Black Music history for the third installment of the …mixing compilation series.

CHRISTIAN PROMMER´s DrumLesson - Drum Lesson Vol.1


For part one of the the two DRUMLESSON albums, that Christian Prommer will produce this year, he recorded
10 of his favourite dance classics as jazz interpretations.

Taking his favourite dance tracks of the last two decades and transforming the energy and magic of the originals into a performance of a jazz quartet (piano, drums, percussion and bass) was quite an interesting journey for the composer/producer.

Thought of as a "one-off" track for the fun of it, it sat on the shelf for a long time until ALEX BARCK of the JAZZANOVA crew, came by and heard the track. Alex and the rest of the crew got so excited about this tune, playing it in their DJ sets all over the world, that they soon decided to release a 12" with this track.

Released in May 2007 it was a fast spreading phenomenon. DJs and music fans from all sides of the spectrum got into this track. DERRICK MAY also gave CHRISTIAN PROMMER his thumbs up. Nice.

Having blown Australia away through their Daft Punk support shows, we can also announce they're in the first announcement for this years Coachella Festival in the US. They're also doing a US tour taking Black Kids in support.

It took a while to make this record. I mean they're perfectionists, and with Tim Goldsworthy (he and James Murphy run DFA Records) in New York they've created a real masterpiece.
