MICHAEL JACKSON RECORDING WITH WILL.I.AM

FABOLOUS POSTS BAIL, FACING INVESTIGATION

New York City officials charged FABOLOUS and three of the rapper's friends with five counts of criminal possession of a weapon yesterday. (Police discovered two guns in the rapper's 2005 Dodge Magnum after pulling it over early Tuesday morning for allegedly running a red light. Fabolous and his entourage were fleeing the scene of a shooting in a nearby parking garage, where the rapper sustained an injury.) Fabolous was released on $15,000 bail yesterday, but police have launched an investigation into a possible connection between the shooting and a robbery targeting BOSTON CELTICS guard SEBASTIAN TELFAIR the same night. So far, Telfair hasn't been able to ID the person who snagged his $50,000 necklace.

PHIL COLLINS CONFIRMS GENESIS REUNION

PETER GABRIEL may still want to take a sledgehammer to the rest of GENESIS, but PHIL COLLINS has managed to wrangle up guitarist MIKE RUTHERFORD and keyboardist TONY BANKS for a worldwide reunion tour. A spokesman for the trio has said that "long term plans"--including recording some possible new material--will be announced in the coming weeks.

COLDPLAY BUY MASSIVE RECORDING/REHEARSAL SPACE

Despite COLDPLAY's extended hiatus plans, the British band has reportedly bought space in a London building that currently houses recording studios and offices. "We're trying to find somewhere we can set up and work from," guitarist WILL CHAMPION told Gigwise earlier this year. "In all these years working together we haven't had a HQ, our own studio or anything like that. We want somewhere that we can hole up and see what happens.

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN PHOTO BOOK OUT NOW

Dozens of rare, early BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN/E STREET BAND photos are now available in the $35 hardcover book "Greetings From E Street." Former "Ashbury Park Press" music critic ROBERT SANTELLI authored the tome.

YOKO ONO SUES EMI FOR UNPAID ROYALTIES

YOKO ONO has brought a $10 million lawsuit against EMI Music Group and Capitol Records, claiming they "willfully and knowingly" underreported royalties from JOHN LENNON's catalogue. Jeanne Meyer, a spokeswoman for EMI/Capitol, declined to comment on the case.

SLICK RICK FACING POSSIBLE DEPORTATION

A Florida judge has overturned a three-year-old ruling that allowed British-born rapper SLICK RICK to remain in the States despite his 1991 attempted murder conviction. In a press release, DR. BENJAMIN CHAVIS of the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network said: "With all of the real and present threats to American society from terrorism, why is the government chasing this rapper?" "It's an obscene misuse of scarce resources.

SECOND VOLUME OF JOHNNY CASH COMP OUT SOON

Still more of JOHNNY CASH's hits are being repackaged and reissued: "The Legend of Johnny Cash Vol. II," which features early Sun Records standard "There You Go," the TOM PETTY cover "I Won't Back Down" and the JUNE CARTER duet "It Ain't Me Babe," will hit shelves November 21st.

Depeche Mode return to the fore with the stunning single ‘Martyr’ – their first new material since the international Number 1 album ‘Playing The Angel’.

Taken from the eagerly awaited Best Of collection, it’s a powerful, hypnotic track written by Martin Gore and deftly confirms the band’s iconic status. Produced by Ben Hillier, of Doves and Blur fame, the new single is unrelenting, absolute Depeche Mode and sits immaculately amongst their luminous history.

Surging with incandescent synths, a razor-sharp hook and Dave Gahan’s emotive claims of being “a martyr for love”, it is both irresistible and irrepressible.
