Andomat 3000
:
Ghandi jack

Po-faced minimal?

Andomat 3000 is anything but, writes Todd L. Burns.
"People seem to be more impressed than I am with the music that I make," shrugs Andreas Wiegand, currently-very-fashionable producer akaAndomat 3000. If you were to pick the least likely individual to become white hot in the fickle world of techno, Andi Wiegand might be it.

The thirty-something producer lives in a small German village with his Mum, and refuses to move to the city ("Sometimes I consider moving, but everyone has gone to Berlin, so I don't have to," he reasons.)

He takes his nom-de-DJ, Mahatma, from a little bald Indian man. He names his ultra-successful tracks things like 'You Suck', 'I Don't Care' and, uh, 'Vertical Smile' (don't ask).

And instead of moody promo shots, his MySpace profile is filled with .gifs of kitties doing push-ups, puppies dressed as hot dogs, and Andi himself gurning with his friends. In short, Andi Wiegand is not exactly Richie Hawtin.

LAST FRIDAY WITH OAKENFOLD!!

Oakenfold giving the Box a good going over with another typical main room set from the man who knows a thing or two about doing them , Fontaine getting reaquainted with his old haunt by dropping another top draw set and Hernan proving yet again, as if we needed to be convinced, that he is one of the best around ; just another Friday night at The Gallery !

With a packed house and the beginning of an extended weekend it was all set for a big one and even by our high standards and expectations it certainly was.

Check out
the pictures
up on the Gallery site for a little
taste of what we mean...

With the demand for our first two night at record levels and with May’s lineups, its never been a better or indeed more important time to get your early bird tickets to avoid disappointment. Its simple, easy to do, saves you some cash and means no more tears or tantrums and missing out on your favourite Gallery nights.

Head over to any of the online outlets listed here to get some of that early bird action for your bad self, you know it makes sense!

GPM089 – Samim – The Lick

Samim is back with a new single, The Lick, backed with remixes by the legendary Derrick Carter.

The Derrick Carter vocal mix is bumping, boompty house at its best, a sex-charged whirlwind of lascivious lyrics, sharp instrumental edits and heavy-rolling bass.

The dub mix is a gnarlier, bassier, more unhinged reading of The Lick, chopped and tweaked for ultimate dancefloor satisfaction.

And then there’s Samim original: a witty, forward-thinking take on testosterone-fuelled, booty-shaking street music.
