NEWSSOURCEDOTCOM:BAND:THE VERVE

Seminal British rock band The Verve have announced that they've reunited. The original 4-piece line-up of Richard Ashcroft, Nick McCabe, Simon Jones and Pete Salisbury were back recording in a London studio last week, and after a summer break they will return to the studio to complete what will become their 4th album.

Late-era guitarist
Simon Tong will not be a part of the reunion as he is currently busy with The Good The Bad & The Queen. The Verve split in 1999 after releasing Urban Hymns in 1997.

So you want to know more?

NME were quick to pick up on the YYY's forthcoming EP, 'Is Is', and made it their headline news piece in this week's issue.

Down Boy - The Video

All five of the tracks on 'Is Is' were captured live on infra-red film infront of a special female only audience earlier this year. Of these the video for 'Down Boy' is the only one cut to studio sound instead of the live recording. 'Down Boy' will be available to download as a 1trk single from July 2nd, giving you a taste of what awaits when 'IS IS' is released on July 23rd.

Also available to purchase on the 23rd will be the above video to 'Down Boy'.

Forgoing the usual route of just giving press interviews the band have chosen to answer fans questions directly via Drowned In Sound's website.

NEW RELEASE: XL RECORDINGS

NSDTCM(NEWSSOURCEDOTCOM):

NEW BAND:BLAQK AUDIO

Blaqk Audio have "Stiff Kittens"

If this was say, eight maybe 10 years ago, and someone said that AFI was making an electronic album, I would of said, "get the fuck outta here." Now years later after releasing
The Art of Drowning, Sing the Sorrow, and Decemberunderground, that shock of an electronic album isn't there anymore as they've dabbled with software and synthesizers on those previous albums. Beginning around 2001-2002, AFI's Davey Havok and Jade Puget finally unveiled their black curtain on Blaqk Audio in March of this year with the release of "Bitter For Sweet." And their latest, which seems to be channeling some Joy Division, New Order, Depeche Mode and maybe some Echo and the Bunnymen, just recently uploaded their latest "Stiff Kittens" on their Myspace page last night. Their album, "CexCells," is slated to drop on Aug. 7

Sunday Girl
is available on two CDs, 7" picture disc and downloads.

Vince: This one flowed out very naturally in that hotel room in Maine. We would only write in the afternoon because I've got a new baby [Oscar] and so had to get back home each night. The chord changes and melody seemed to work really well.

Andy: It's a Bacharach-type song with a big chorus. It's quite old-fashioned, like Neil Sedaka's Calendar Girl.
