Island Records plan to release an updated version of the legendary 
Nick Drake
box set "Fruit Tree."

Originally released in 1979, "Fruit Tree" has been out of print for seven years.

In addition to all three of Nick's classic studio albums
- Five Leaves Left, Bryter
Layter and Pink Moon, this one time only, limited edition
pressing (10,000 copies) of
"Fruit Tree" includes, on DVD for the first time,the Nick Drake
biographical film "A Skin Too Few" and a new 108-page book featuring
song by song analysis byproducer Joe Boyd, engineer John Wood,
arranger Robert Kirby and songwriter/music journalist and
friend Robin Frederick.

The CD sleeves feature mini
replicas of the original sleeves and the box itself replicates the first edition of the
"Fruit Tree" set .

Additionally, a limited quantity of the set (2,000 units) will be available
on premium vinyl. This vinyl set, which includes the DVD and book,
is also a one-time run only.Each album will be housed in a rendition
of its original vinyl sleeve.

The release will be marked by two major Nick Drake themed events
in San Franciscoand Los Angeles, USA, in early October:

Tuesday, October 2nd, San Francisco, CA
San Francisco City Arts & Lectures and Noise Pop present
"Remembering Nick Drake," an evening of conversation with Nick's
sister Gabrielle Drake, producer JoeBoyd who discovered,
signed and produced Drake, and singer/songwriter JolieHolland.
The event, which takes place at The Herbst Theater, is part of the Talking

Wednesday, October 3rd, San Francisco, CA
The 8th Annual San Francisco Documentary Festival will screen documentary "A Skin

Friday, October 5th, Los Angeles, CA

The American Cinematheque presents a special evening saluting Nick Drake at
Grauman's Egyptian Theater in Hollywood. The event - titled "A Place To Be - A
Celebration of Nick Drake" - includes the official Los Angeles Premiere of "A Skin
Too Few" and includes the World Theatrical Premiere of a series of short filmed
homages to Nick Drake- created by admirers including Heath Ledger, Jonas Mekas
and Tim Pope - collectively titled "Their Place: Reflections On Nick Drake". Special
guests Gabrielle Drake, Joe Boyd and Robin Frederick will be on hand for a Q&A
panel discussion.
