NEWSSOURCEDOTCOM:KAISER CHIEFS

We're sorry for the late news on this & any inconvenience or disappointment caused, but we have cancelled a run of gigs in North America this month to find some time to concentrate on recording new material.

We'd like to apologise to fans who had already bought tickets. We've had very little time to focus on the future this year, and we would like to have new material out as soon as possible. We feel the need to spend time on this before our European & UK shows at the end of the year so we can play a few of our new songs live, so we're headed back into the rehearsal studio to begin that process immediately and have shortened our US tour to just these shows below as a result. These few shows below will still go ahead as planned starting with Austin City Limits Festival this weekend.

14th September - Austin City Limits Festival, Austin, TX (headlining the AT&T Stage)
16th September - Mexico City, Vive Cuervo Salon 21
29th September - New York City, Beacon Theatre (plus support from White Rabbits & Datarock) --- tickets for this show are available here

We have cancelled shows in Detroit, Dallas, Toronto, Nashville, Houston and Atlanta. Tickets are fully refundable from venue Box Offices.

We're very sorry if this is a disappointment and hope to return to North America for a proper tour before long.

Final bit of tour news; tomorrow our show at BBC's Electric Proms goes on sale. This is a one-off performance on Friday 26th October billed as 'Kaiser Chiefs via David Arnold' at The Roundhouse, Camden Town, London.

It's a chance to hear our songs performed and interpreted differently via collaboration with legendary composer and arranger David Arnold who's worked with the likes of Iggy Pop & Bjork and composed many film themes, including James Bond. We're still working out exactly what we're doing, but it will be unique and challenging, and those two things make it exciting.

Tickets for that show are available exclusively here

Also contributing to this year's Electric Proms are Sir Paul McCartney, Sigur Ros, Ray Davies, Lily Allen, Flaming Lips, Justice & Mark Ronson with many more names still to be confirmed

Support on our show comes from Cold War Kids

Good luck getting hold of tickets. We hope to see loads of you there.

Cheers for now
Kaiser Chiefs
