NSDTCM:JACK JOHNSON
LABEL:BRUSHFIRE RECORDS

His previous albums (In Between Dreams, On and On and Brushfire Fairytales) included some of the great tracks of 2006 such as Better Together, Sitting, Waiting, Wishing and Good People. Jack was also involved in the Curious George film soundtrack which included the classic Upside Down.

Britain took to Jack in a big way. When he first ventured over the water in May 2005, it was as if he had lit the blue touch paper and run. The low-key shows in Shepherd’s Bush and Cornwall sold out in nine minutes, and the public and media reaction was incredible. When Jack returned to the UK in February 2006, he played sold-out arena shows and performed at the BRIT Awards – his UK TV debut - alongside Gorillaz, Coldplay and Kanye West. Jack’s night was capped when he won the award for International Breakthrough Act.

Jack has three passions in his life: music, surfing and his family, though not necessarily in that order. As music lovers everywhere have fallen head over heels for his unique, acoustic sound, it’s heartening to know that Jack’s music is a pure distillation of his own character.

Modest, warm-hearted and serene, Jack Johnson has found global success on his own terms, without hype or compromise.

Sleep Through The Static’ was recorded 100% on solar energy.

Brushfire Records is a Mango Tree, Hawaii based record label owned by singer-songwriter Jack Johnson. The label, formerly known as The Moonshine Conspiracy Records, was originally made to release soundtracks for Woodshed Films, a surfing movie production owned by Jack Johnson, Emmett Malloy, and Chris Malloy for Thicker than Water. It was after this that the three, with Jack Johnson's wife, Kim Johnson, decided to release albums along with soundtracks. The record company has put out the soundtrack for the Curious George movie Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies for the Film Curious George and Jack Johnson's In Between Dreams.
