New York City's disco revival has been brewing for years. *Todd L. Burns talks to the man behind the one band that might be able to send the revival into the mainstream consciousness.

They say that disco is dead. Those people apparently haven't been to New York City lately.

Here in Gotham, there's been a full-blown resurgence of interest in the genre, tied in no small part to the opening of old-school box clubs like Santos Party House and underground dives like 205.


This so-called disco revival isn't some new thing: tons of artists have been toiling hard, playing the music that they love for a number of years. The question is: why now?

One answer: *Hercules & Love Affair, whose self-titled debut album has launched a thousand thinkpieces and scored just as many
dance parties.
