THE BLACK SEEDS is a 100% pure New-Zealand product: a Wellington-based 7 piece-band producing an original blend of Soul, Funk, Reggae and Dub that got their home-country grooving around for about 10 years. They carved out their reputation on the sunny side of the globe on the strength of 2 studio albums Keep on Pushing (2001) and On The Sun (2003).
They respectively achieved gold and double-platinum sales in New Zealand. This critical acclaim and their superstar status in their home-country are all but coincidence. THE BLACK SEEDS are one of the only bands that manage to cross over and bridge the gap between Reggae, Funk and Pop music with their pacifican party sound that got crowds skanking all over the country.
